Test Your Stretch-Ability!

I just finished up another fun project for the NISE Network. Macro, Micro, Nano Stretch-Ability is an interactive, full body game modeled after a classic game you may be familiar with. The game will be part of the 2010 Nano Days kit that is distributed to museums and educational institutions across the country.
I worked with the Children's Museum of Houston to design the game board and spinner and we produced a few hundred copies.

THE SAGAN PLANET WALK

For the past year, I have been working with the Sciencenter in Ithaca, NY on graphic updates for the Sagan Planet Walk. This outdoor exhibit was created in memory of Ithaca resident and Cornell Professor Carl Sagan in 1997. The planet "stations" are installed throughout downtown Ithaca, allowing visitors to walk the solar system at one five-billionth of it's actual size. With the accompanying Passport to the Solar System, visitors can read more about each planet and get a stamp at each station.
The updates included signage for a new Asteroid station featuring a real meteorite, and a newly designed Passport. It was essential that the new graphics fit in with the existing look and feel, while also strengthening the overall concept of the exhibit. The Passport now features new illustrations, a new fold-out map, and full color images. I also designed a Teacher's Edition Passport that can be downloaded an printed easily and inexpensively.
The new Passport went on sale this summer, and the Asteroid station had it's official dedication on August 17th. I had a chance to stop by the station on my last visit to Ithaca, it looks great! It was truly wonderful to work on a project that has such a legacy in Ithaca, my home away from home!
